Lindsay Allen, a Senior at Fossil Ridge High School, will be reading her paper “Frankenstein as a Feminist Text” at the 2017 Frankenstein Colloquium

Lindsay Allen, Class of 2017
Lindsay Allen is a senior at Fossil Ridge High School in Keller Texas and has lived in that area her whole life. She is an avid piano player as well as a member of the Fossil Ridge Band where she serves as a percussionist and the Band President. Lindsay was intrigued by the novel Frankenstein by Mary Shelley when she read it in her senior english class and enjoyed the opportunity to put her thoughts on the important aspects of the feminine in the novel into her essay. Lindsay's essay argues that there is an elevated importance of femininity in Frankenstein that contradicts the normally patriarchal elements of tragedy, and is very excited to participate in this year's colloquium. Lindsay hopes to attend Texas Woman's University in the fall and wishes to pursue a degree in Music Education and Music Therapy.

Lindsay will be presenting her paper “Frankenstein as a Feminist Text” during the 3rd block in Session A in a workshop titled “Feminism in Frankenstein.”  The presentation will take place in the upper school Black Box Theatre on the 2nd floor of the Fine Arts building at 1:15pm.
