|Heather Schwan, Class of 2017|
Heather Schwan is a Senior and currently the Valedictorian of her class at Fossil Ridge High School. She is involved in National Honor Society, piano, and peer tutoring at school. Heather also particularly enjoys writing and reading poetry and is obsessed with dragons. After reading Frankenstein in her English IV class, she became intrigued by the underlying implications of human interaction within the story, and wrote "Virtues First Slain" about the evidence for Shelley's fundamental lesson of the many effects on the many fragile innocences within individuals. Heather is honored to have been chosen for this opportunity, and hopes to continue learning and applying knowledge effectively in the future.
Heather will be presenting her paper “Virtues First Slain” during the 2nd block in Session B, titled “Passion and the Loss of Innocence.” The session will take place on the upper floor of the Library at 10:30am.
