|Funmi Solano, Class of 2018|
Funmi Solano is a junior at The Oakridge School. As a math and languages lover, she participates in math club, frequenting math competitions outside of school, and attends lots of Japanese activities, like volunteering at the calligraphy booth of the Japanese Garden Festivals in Fort Worth. Her other clubs include art club, world languages club, and current events club. Although she hates sports, she plays varsity field hockey and runs varsity track and field. In her free time, she loves to bake, read, and draw. She is always excited to try something new, so she looks forward to presenting her paper at this year’s colloquium!
Funmi will be reading her paper “Almost Human is Anything But” during the 2nd block in Session E, “Monsters and Mechanical Men.” Her presentation will take place in the Fine Arts Performance Hall at 10:30am.
